An easy way to recover and read deleted WhatsApp messages

WhatsApp, like any other messenger, has a message deletion function. Many probably faced a situation when the interlocutor or you yourself cleaned up the history of dialogues, and she suddenly needed after a while. It turns out that there is a way to read deleted messages, which was provided by the WhatsApp developers themselves – no tricky manipulations and installation of third-party software are needed for this.

The Sun reports that the easiest method to restore deleted WhatsApp messages is based on the backup procedure. The messenger regularly creates archives of all dialogues, including deleted SMS messages. By default, backups are made every night at 2 o’clock, but the frequency of their creation can be changed in the application settings.

If you delete WhatsApp from your smartphone and reinstall it, then the first time you log in, the system will offer to restore chats from a backup copy, inside which deleted messages remained. By default, the application restores the last backup, but archives for the last 7 days are stored in the phone’s memory, and you can restore any of them by simply renaming the files in the WhatsApp/Databases folder (here we described in detail how to do this).

The whole procedure takes at most a couple of minutes and does not expose your data to any threats, unlike other methods of message recovery through questionable software.
